: (1) Competition Promotion and Market Protection Board has been formed to enhance fair competition in the market by protecting the market.
(2) The following members will be in the board as per sub-section (1):-
(a) Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply – Chairman
(b) Representative, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Arrangements – Member
(c) Representative, Ministry of Finance – Member
(d) Representative, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply – Member
(e) Two persons nominated by the Government of Nepal from among the persons working in industry and commerce related associations - members
(f) Four members nominated by the Government of Nepal, with at least one woman among the people working in the association related to consumer rights. (g) Director General, Department of Commerce – Member-Secretary
(3) The term of office of the nominated members according to sub-section (2) will be two years.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (3), if the work of any nominated member is not satisfactory, the Government of Nepal may remove him as a member of the board at any time by disclosing the reason thereof.
